About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking Senior Mechanical Design Engineers to join our Technical Department in Cairo, Egypt. As a key member of our multidisciplinary design team, you will play a critical role in delivering innovative and sustainable mechanical engineering solutions for some of the region's most iconic infrastructure and construction projects. From commercial buildings and industrial facilities to smart cities and government mega-projects, your expertise will directly contribute to the success of BEC Arabia's ambitious portfolio.

In this role, you will lead the design and development of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with international standards and local regulations. You will collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to deliver efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly designs. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare detailed mechanical design drawings, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
  • Ensure compliance with the Egyptian Code, international standards, and project-specific requirements.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, structural engineers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  • Review and approve mechanical design deliverables, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to project timelines.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical analyses to optimize mechanical system performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, including site visits, inspections, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to specify and select appropriate mechanical equipment and materials.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, green building practices, and sustainability standards such as LEED and Estidama.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a focus on large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other mechanical design software.
  • Strong knowledge of the Egyptian Code and international standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and ISO.
  • Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Registration with the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Certification in LEED AP or equivalent green building standards.
  • Experience with BIM workflows and advanced modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with sustainability-focused design practices and energy modeling software.
  • Previous experience on mega-projects or smart city developments.

Working Conditions
