About the Role
BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled Technical Office Manager to join our dynamic team in Riyadh. As a key leader within the Technical Department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of complex construction and infrastructure projects. This position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of technical office operations, including design coordination, project documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards.
In this role, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team of engineers, drafters, and technical specialists, ensuring that all technical deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy. You will collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders to drive project success from inception to completion. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing technical submittals, reviewing designs, resolving technical issues, and ensuring compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical office team in preparing, reviewing, and approving technical submittals, shop drawings, and material approvals.
- Manage design coordination between consultants, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), client specifications, and other regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, and as-built drawings.
- Monitor project progress and provide technical support to resolve design and construction challenges.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment in line with technical specifications.
- Implement and oversee the use of BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools to enhance project planning and execution.
- Review and approve contractor and consultant deliverables to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technical staff to build a high-performing team.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure technical deliverables align with project schedules and budgets.
- Conduct regular site visits to verify compliance with technical standards and address on-site issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical office management within the construction industry.
- Proven expertise in design coordination, technical submittals, and project documentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Primavera P6, and BIM tools such as Revit or Navisworks.
- Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant regulations.
- Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration is mandatory.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
- Experience with LEED or Mostadam sustainability standards.
- Familiarity with NEOM, Red Sea Global, or other Saudi giga-projects.
- Advanced knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
Working Conditions
- This is an office-based role located in Riyadh, with occasional site visits required.
- Standard working hours apply, with flexibility for project demands.
- Travel within Saudi Arabia may be required to support regional projects.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided for site visits.
