Technical - Architectural Team Leader

About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical - Architectural Team Leader to join our Technical Department in Cairo. This role is pivotal in driving architectural excellence across our diverse portfolio of projects, including commercial buildings, residential mega-projects, and industrial facilities. As a key member of the technical team, you will lead architectural design, coordination, and technical reviews, ensuring compliance with project specifications, regulatory standards, and client expectations.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including structural engineers, MEP specialists, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions. You will oversee a team of architects and designers, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and quality assurance. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements, project goals, and regulatory standards.
• Manage a team of architects and designers, delegating tasks, monitoring progress, and providing technical mentorship.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of design elements.
• Develop detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and documentation using industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Conduct technical reviews and quality checks of architectural deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance with project standards.
• Ensure adherence to local building codes, including the Egyptian Code and relevant international standards.
• Collaborate with project managers to establish timelines, budgets, and resource requirements for architectural tasks.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure design intent is maintained and provide technical support during the execution phase.
• Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into projects.
• Prepare and present design proposals, reports, and progress updates to clients and stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of sustainability initiatives, including compliance with LEED and other green building standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural design and project coordination, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other architectural design software.
• Strong knowledge of the Egyptian Building Code and international standards.
• Demonstrated experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with engineering disciplines.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
• Registration with the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Certification in LEED AP or equivalent green building standards.
• Experience with BIM workflows and tools.
• Familiarity with New Administrative Capital projects or similar large-scale developments.
• Knowledge of parametric design tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper.
• Proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.

• Office-based role located in Cairo, with occasional site visits as required.
