Technical - Senior Infrastructure Electrical Engineer

About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Electrical Engineer to join our Technical Department in Cairo, Egypt. In this role, you will play a critical part in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for large-scale infrastructure projects, including roads, utilities, and industrial facilities. As a senior member of the team, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of complex projects that align with Egypt Vision 2030's infrastructure modernization goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and implementation of infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with Egyptian Building Codes and international standards.
• Develop detailed electrical engineering plans, including load calculations, wiring diagrams, and specifications for power distribution systems.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, and structural engineers, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and submittals from contractors and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards such as OSHA and ISO 45001 during all phases of project execution.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor the quality and progress of electrical installations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate and select electrical equipment and materials.
• Prepare and present technical reports, feasibility studies, and progress updates to stakeholders.
• Integrate sustainable and energy-efficient solutions into electrical designs to meet green building standards such as LEED and Mostadam.
• Monitor project budgets and timelines, ensuring electrical works are completed within scope and schedule.
• Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals and permits.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering for infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, and Revit MEP for electrical design and modeling.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian Building Codes and international standards (IEC, IEEE).
• Experience with power distribution systems, lighting, and utilities.
• Familiarity with safety standards such as OSHA and ISO 45001.
• Registration with the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects on time and within budget.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
• Experience with green building standards such as LEED or Mostadam.
• Knowledge of smart city technologies and IoT integration in infrastructure.
• Prior experience working on government-funded mega-projects in Egypt.

Working Conditions

• Office-based role in Cairo with occasional site visits to infrastructure project locations.
• Standard working hours with flexibility for project demands.
• Site visits may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
• Travel within Egypt may be required to oversee project progress and liaise with stakeholders.
