About the Role
BEC Arabia is seeking a Storekeeper Assistant to join our Inventory Department in Khobar. As a Storekeeper Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the efficient management of materials, tools, and equipment essential for the execution of our large-scale construction and infrastructure projects. This role is critical to maintaining the seamless flow of inventory, ensuring that our project teams have the resources they need to deliver on time and to the highest standards.
You will work closely with the Storekeeper and other team members to monitor stock levels, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming materials, tools, and equipment.
- Organize and store inventory in designated locations to ensure easy accessibility and efficient retrieval.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using company-approved systems and tools.
- Support the Storekeeper in conducting regular stock counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or overstock situations to the Storekeeper.
- Ensure proper labeling and tagging of materials for identification and traceability.
- Assist in preparing and issuing materials and tools to project teams as per requisitions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to facilitate timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the storage area to ensure a safe working environment.
- Support the implementation of inventory management best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Storekeeper or Inventory Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory management, warehousing, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management systems and tools.
- Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
- Compliance with Saudi Labor Law and GOSI requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in inventory management or supply chain (e.g., CIPS Level 2, APICS CPIM).
- Experience working in the construction or engineering industry.
- Knowledge of ERP systems for inventory tracking.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 and safety standards in warehousing.
- Previous experience in a multinational or large-scale project environment.
Working Conditions
- Based in Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
- Primarily warehouse and storage area environment with occasional office-based tasks.
- Exposure to varying temperatures and physical activity, including lifting and moving materials.
- Standard working hours with occasional overtime based on project needs.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided and required for certain tasks.
