Storekeeper

About the Role

BEC Arabia is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Storekeeper to join our Inventory Department in Khobar. As a Storekeeper, you will play a pivotal role in managing the storage, distribution, and tracking of construction materials and supplies essential for our large-scale infrastructure and engineering projects. This position is integral to ensuring that all materials are available and accounted for to meet project timelines and quality standards.

You will work closely with procurement, project managers, and site teams to maintain accurate inventory records, oversee stock levels, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Organize and maintain storage areas to ensure materials are easily accessible and stored safely.
• Monitor and track inventory levels using inventory management systems to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Coordinate with procurement and project teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of stock movements, including receipts, issues, and returns.
• Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Implement and enforce safety and quality standards for material handling and storage.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant regulations for material storage.
• Collaborate with site supervisors to forecast material requirements and plan inventory accordingly.
• Supervise loading and unloading activities to ensure proper handling of materials.
• Maintain documentation for regulatory compliance, including GOSI and safety standards.
• Report damaged or defective materials and coordinate with suppliers for replacements.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory or warehouse management, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
• Proficiency in inventory management software such as SAP, Oracle, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of material handling and storage best practices.
• Familiarity with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant regulations.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Inventory Management or Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS, CIPS).
• Experience working on mega-projects or in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of green building standards such as LEED or Mostadam.
• Familiarity with ERP systems used in the construction sector.
• Proficiency in Arabic and English for effective communication.

Working Conditions

• Based in Khobar, with occasional travel to project sites within the region.
• Work environment includes warehouse settings and construction sites, requiring adherence to PPE and safety protocols.
• Standard working hours with occasional overtime based on project needs.
• Exposure to hot and humid climates, typical of the Gulf region.
