Health & Safety - Trainer

About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Trainer to join our Health & Safety Department in Makkah. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in fostering a culture of safety excellence across our diverse portfolio of construction, infrastructure, and engineering projects. This includes delivering high-quality training programs, ensuring compliance with Saudi labor laws and international safety standards, and supporting our commitment to achieving zero incidents on all project sites.

You will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and safety officers to identify training needs, develop tailored safety programs, and implement best practices. Your expertise will directly contribute to the success of BEC Arabia’s high-profile projects, including government mega-projects and private sector developments, all aligned with Saudi Vision 2030. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver comprehensive health and safety training programs tailored to construction and infrastructure environments.
• Conduct safety inductions for new employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure compliance with BEC Arabia’s safety standards.
• Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, and implement improvements as needed.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi labor laws, OSHA, NEBOSH, and ISO 45001 standards across all training initiatives.
• Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to identify specific safety training needs and address gaps.
• Maintain up-to-date training records and certifications for all employees in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, including incident rates and near-miss statistics, to inform training priorities.
• Develop training materials, including presentations, manuals, and e-learning modules, to support diverse learning styles.
• Lead emergency preparedness drills and simulations to ensure readiness for various scenarios.
• Advise on the integration of safety practices into daily operations and project workflows.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously enhance training programs.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and proactive risk management across all levels of the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety training within the construction or engineering industry.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH International General Certificate, OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other relevant safety management systems.
• Familiarity with Saudi labor laws, GOSI requirements, and Saudi Building Code (SBC).
• Proven experience in developing and delivering engaging training programs.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; Arabic proficiency is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and e-learning platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications such as NEBOSH Diploma, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or equivalent.
• Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects or other large-scale construction initiatives.
• Knowledge of Mostadam or LEED green building standards.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 or other project management tools.
• Experience in multicultural work environments.

Working Conditions

• Based in Makkah with frequent visits to construction sites.
• Combination of office and fieldwork environments, requiring the use of PPE on-site.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions typical of the region.
• Standard full-time working hours with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.
• Regional travel may be required to support training needs across multiple project sites.
