About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical - Structural Team Leader to join our Technical Department in Khobar. This role is instrumental in overseeing the structural engineering aspects of our high-profile projects, including commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and government mega-projects. As a key leader within the organization, you will manage a team of engineers and collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure the successful delivery of structurally sound, innovative, and sustainable designs.

In this role, you will play a critical part in advancing BEC Arabia’s reputation for engineering excellence. You will lead the structural design process, ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and international standards, and provide technical guidance to your team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to projects that are shaping the future of Saudi Arabia, including NEOM, Diriyah Gate, and other Vision 2030 initiatives. Your expertise will directly impact the quality, safety, and sustainability of our construction projects.

This is a full-time, office-based position in Khobar, with occasional site visits and collaboration with regional teams. The role offers significant career growth potential, exposure to cutting-edge technologies, and the chance to work on some of the most ambitious projects in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the structural engineering team in the development of innovative and compliant designs for large-scale construction projects.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery of structural components.
  • Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and project managers to integrate structural designs seamlessly into overall project plans.
  • Develop detailed structural calculations, drawings, and specifications using tools such as ETABS, SAP2000, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), international standards (ACI, BS, Eurocodes), and client-specific requirements.
  • Monitor construction activities to verify adherence to structural designs and provide technical support during execution.
  • Conduct structural analysis and risk assessments to identify potential issues and recommend solutions.
  • Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and material specifications.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional development within the team.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to address technical queries and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Implement sustainability principles in structural designs, aligning with Mostadam and LEED standards where applicable.
  • Stay updated on advancements in structural engineering technologies and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other structural analysis and design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and international standards (ACI, BS, Eurocodes).
  • Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
  • Proven track record of managing structural engineering teams and delivering large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with BIM workflows and tools such as Revit.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
  • Experience with ARAMCO-approved vendor standards or SABIC projects.
  • Expertise in seismic design and advanced structural analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of sustainability frameworks such as Mostadam and LEED.

Working Conditions

  • Office-based role in Khobar with periodic site visits to construction locations.
  • Standard working hours with occasional extended hours based on project demands.
  • Regional travel may be required to support projects across the GCC.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required during site visits.
  • Exposure to high temperatures and outdoor conditions during site inspections.
