About the Role

As a QS - Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a critical role in our Quantity Surveying Department, based in Riyadh. This position is integral to ensuring the financial and operational success of our projects, which range from commercial buildings to government mega-projects aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing cost estimation, contract administration, and financial planning for large-scale civil engineering projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, architects, and contractors, to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documents for civil engineering projects.
  • Manage contract administration, including reviewing and negotiating terms, variations, and claims.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure accurate cost control and budget adherence.
  • Develop and maintain cost databases, benchmarks, and historical data for future project planning.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular financial reports to stakeholders, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), client requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
  • Evaluate contractor and supplier performance to ensure alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Support the procurement team in evaluating bids and selecting contractors.
  • Advise on risk management strategies related to cost and contractual matters.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate forecasting and cash flow management.
  • Mentor junior quantity surveyors and contribute to their professional development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost management for large-scale civil engineering projects.
  • Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and cost estimation software such as Candy or CostX.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, Saudi Building Code (SBC), and construction regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract administration, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or PMP (Project Management Professional).
  • Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects or similar large-scale infrastructure initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Mostadam or LEED green building standards.
  • Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes and tools.

Working Conditions

  • Based in Riyadh, with occasional travel to project sites within Saudi Arabia.
  • Primarily office-based with regular site visits requiring the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Exposure to construction site environments, including outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Standard working hours with potential for extended hours during critical project phases.
