Technical - Electrical Team Leader

About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled Technical - Electrical Team Leader to join our Technical Department in Khobar, Saudi Arabia. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead a team of electrical engineers and technicians in delivering innovative and compliant electrical solutions for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects. In this role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and quality assurance of electrical systems for projects spanning commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and government mega-projects. Your expertise will drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices, ensuring compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) requirements, and other regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical engineering team in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
• Develop detailed electrical designs, schematics, and layouts using industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD Electrical and ETAP.
• Ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) regulations, and other local and international standards.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines to ensure deliverables are met within scope and quality parameters.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to verify the quality and safety of electrical installations.
• Implement energy-efficient and sustainable electrical solutions in alignment with green building standards such as Mostadam and LEED.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and client review.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate and select electrical materials and equipment.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to electrical systems, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and standards.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within the department.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
• Active membership with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, and other electrical design software.
• Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant standards.
• Demonstrated experience in managing teams and delivering complex projects.
• Familiarity with Mostadam, LEED, or other green building certification systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
• Experience with smart city infrastructure and IoT-enabled systems.
• Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools and workflows.
• Previous experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects.

Working Conditions

• Location: Office-based in Khobar with regular site visits to construction and infrastructure project locations.
• Travel: Occasional regional travel within Saudi Arabia may be required.
• Environment: Combination of office and fieldwork; fieldwork may involve exposure to construction site conditions, including heat, dust, and noise.
• Safety: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory during site visits.
• Schedule: Full-time role with standard working hours; flexibility required to meet project deadlines.
