Technical - Mechanical Team Leader

About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical - Mechanical Team Leader to join our Technical Department at our Khobar office. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of mechanical engineers and technical specialists, driving the design, analysis, and execution of mechanical systems for some of the Kingdom's most ambitious construction and infrastructure projects. From commercial buildings to industrial facilities and mega-projects under Saudi Vision 2030, your contributions will directly impact the success of high-profile developments.

As a key member of the Technical Department, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, and project management professionals, to deliver innovative and sustainable mechanical solutions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include overseeing detailed engineering designs, ensuring compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other regulatory standards, and mentoring junior engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical engineering team in the design, analysis, and execution of mechanical systems for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
• Develop detailed engineering designs, calculations, and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), ASHRAE standards, and other relevant regulatory and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, and project management, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure alignment with client expectations and organizational goals.
• Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate and select mechanical equipment and materials.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Implement sustainability practices, including energy-efficient and green building solutions, in mechanical system designs.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and HVAC design software such as HAP or TRACE.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC), ASHRAE standards, and ISO 9001.
• Experience in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Certification in LEED, Mostadam, or other green building standards.
• Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows.
• Familiarity with NEOM, Red Sea Global, or other Saudi Vision 2030 mega-projects.
• Knowledge of ARAMCO standards and SABIC requirements.

Working Conditions

• Office-based role in Khobar with regular site visits to construction and infrastructure project locations.
• Exposure to construction site environments, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Occasional travel within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support project needs.
• Standard working hours with potential for extended hours during critical project phases.
• Climate considerations include high temperatures during site visits.
