Technical - Architectural Team Leader

About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking an experienced Technical - Architectural Team Leader to join our Technical Department in Khobar. In this leadership role, you will oversee architectural design and technical deliverables for some of the Kingdom’s most ambitious construction and infrastructure projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure that all architectural aspects align with project specifications, client expectations, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with project goals and client requirements.
• Manage a team of architects, designers, and drafters, providing mentorship and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, MEP, and civil engineers, to ensure seamless integration of architectural elements.
• Develop detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and documentation using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), local municipal regulations, and international standards such as LEED and Mostadam.
• Review and approve architectural designs, ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and adherence to project timelines.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders, addressing any design-related challenges proactively.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and translate it into innovative and functional architectural solutions.
• Implement sustainable design practices, contributing to BEC Arabia’s commitment to green building standards.
• Oversee quality assurance processes, ensuring all deliverables meet BEC Arabia’s high standards of excellence.
• Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals and presentations for new projects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) or Master of Architecture (M.Arch) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in architectural design and project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant regulations.
• Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
• Demonstrated experience in delivering large-scale commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in LEED AP or Mostadam for sustainable design.
• Experience with NEOM, Saudi Aramco, or other Saudi giga-projects.
• Advanced knowledge of parametric design tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper.
• Master’s degree in Urban Design or Sustainable Architecture.
• Familiarity with 3D visualization software like Lumion or Enscape.

Working Conditions

• Office-based role in Khobar with occasional site visits to project locations.
• Standard working hours with flexibility for project deadlines.
• Travel within the Kingdom may be required for client meetings and site inspections.
• PPE usage mandatory during site visits.
• Climate considerations include working in high-temperature outdoor environments during site visits.
