About the Role
BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled QA/QC - MEP Team Leader to join our team in Khobar. This role is critical in ensuring the quality and compliance of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems across our diverse portfolio of projects, which include commercial buildings, residential mega-projects, industrial facilities, and government infrastructure. As a QA/QC - MEP Team Leader, you will oversee a team of quality professionals, ensuring that all MEP installations meet the highest standards of safety, functionality, and regulatory compliance.
You will work closely with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control processes. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining BEC Arabia’s reputation for delivering world-class construction projects that align with the ambitious goals of Saudi Vision 2030. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the QA/QC team for MEP works, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement quality assurance plans, inspection test plans (ITPs), and checklists for MEP systems.
- Monitor and evaluate MEP installation activities on-site to ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential quality risks and recommend preventive measures.
- Ensure all MEP materials and equipment meet project requirements and are approved by relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain detailed QA/QC documentation, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and quality records.
- Collaborate with the safety team to ensure MEP works comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Train and mentor junior QA/QC staff to build a high-performing quality team.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors to resolve quality-related issues and ensure client satisfaction.
- Stay updated on the latest industry standards, technologies, and best practices in MEP quality management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in QA/QC roles within the construction industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven expertise in MEP systems quality assurance and control.
- Familiarity with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant standards.
- Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration (mandatory for KSA-based roles).
- Proficiency in quality management tools and software, such as AutoCAD, Primavera P6, and MS Office.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with LEED, Mostadam, or other green building standards.
- Advanced knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) for MEP systems.
- Previous experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects or similar large-scale initiatives.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic.
Working Conditions
- Based in Khobar, with frequent visits to construction sites.
- Combination of office and site-based work environments.
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, including high temperatures typical of the region.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required when on-site.
- Standard working hours with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.
- Regional travel may be required to support projects across the Kingdom.
