About the Role
BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Project Manager to join our Environmental & Sustainability Department in Khobar. In this pivotal role, you will oversee environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and green building practices across some of the Kingdom's most iconic infrastructure and construction projects. As part of our commitment to Saudi Vision 2030, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our projects meet the highest environmental standards while contributing to the economic and social transformation of the region.
You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders, to integrate sustainable practices into every phase of the project lifecycle. From conducting environmental impact assessments to implementing innovative solutions for waste management and energy efficiency, your work will directly influence the success of BEC Arabia's projects and our reputation as a leader in sustainable construction.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of environmental management plans (EMPs) for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi environmental regulations, including the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and relevant ISO standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and risk analyses to identify potential environmental hazards and mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with project teams to integrate sustainability practices, such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, and water conservation, into project designs and operations.
- Monitor on-site environmental performance through regular audits, inspections, and reporting.
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees and subcontractors on environmental policies and best practices.
- Collaborate with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and third-party consultants to ensure project approvals and compliance.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for internal stakeholders and external clients, including Royal Commission and Saudi Aramco.
- Advocate for green building certifications such as LEED, Mostadam, or Estidama, and guide projects through the certification process.
- Manage environmental budgets and resources effectively to achieve project goals within financial constraints.
- Stay updated on emerging environmental regulations, technologies, and industry trends to ensure continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental management within the construction or infrastructure sector.
- Professional certifications such as ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH Environmental Management, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in environmental management software and tools, such as GIS, Primavera P6, or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi environmental regulations, including SBC and GOSI requirements.
- Proven track record of managing environmental compliance for large-scale projects.
- Membership or eligibility for registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
- Experience with Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects or similar large-scale initiatives.
- Expertise in green building certifications such as LEED AP, Mostadam, or Estidama.
- Familiarity with advanced environmental modeling tools and software.
- Experience working with clients such as Saudi Aramco, Royal Commission, or Public Investment Fund entities.
Working Conditions
- Location: Office-based in Khobar with regular visits to construction sites.
- Travel: Regional travel may be required to project sites across the Kingdom.
- Environment: Combination of office and fieldwork; exposure to construction site conditions, including heat and dust.
- PPE: Personal protective equipment must be worn during site visits.
- Schedule: Full-time, with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.
