About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Technical - Design Coordinator to join our Technical Department in Riyadh. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in coordinating design activities across multidisciplinary teams for some of the Kingdom’s most iconic construction and infrastructure projects. From commercial developments to government mega-projects, your expertise will ensure that all designs meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and innovation.

Working closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and external consultants, you will oversee the seamless integration of technical designs into project execution plans. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate design activities across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  • Review and validate technical drawings, specifications, and design documents to ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant standards.
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, and external consultants to resolve design discrepancies and ensure seamless integration of design elements.
  • Monitor design progress and provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all design deliverables meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
  • Facilitate design review meetings and workshops to address technical challenges and optimize solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized repository for design documentation and ensure proper version control.
  • Support the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and tools to enhance design coordination and collaboration.
  • Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate design options and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure that design specifications align with material and equipment requirements.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, presentations, and documentation for client and regulatory submissions.
  • Promote adherence to sustainability standards such as Mostadam and LEED in design practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in design coordination within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Primavera P6.
  • Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant regulations.
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and processes.
  • Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management standards.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or LEED Accredited Professional.
  • Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects or other large-scale infrastructure developments.
  • Knowledge of Mostadam sustainability standards.
  • Proficiency in advanced design software such as Navisworks or Tekla Structures.

Working Conditions

  • This is a full-time, office-based role located in Riyadh, with occasional visits to project sites.
  • Standard working hours with potential for extended hours during critical project phases.
  • Travel within the Kingdom may be required to coordinate with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Compliance with safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during site visits.
