Technical - Electrical Team Leader

About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical - Electrical Team Leader to join our Technical Department in Cairo, Egypt. As a key member of our engineering leadership team, you will oversee the design, review, and implementation of electrical systems for large-scale infrastructure and construction projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring the technical excellence and compliance of all electrical designs with local and international standards.

You will lead a team of skilled electrical engineers, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. From concept design to project handover, you will play a critical role in driving efficiency, quality, and safety across all electrical engineering activities. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical engineering team in the design, review, and approval of electrical systems for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
• Develop detailed electrical designs, schematics, and specifications in compliance with the Egyptian Code and international standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, and architectural departments, to ensure seamless project integration.
• Ensure all electrical designs meet regulatory requirements, including Egyptian Engineers Syndicate registration and safety standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 9001.
• Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and material specifications for electrical systems.
• Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate and select electrical equipment and materials.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to verify the proper installation and functionality of electrical systems.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and client review.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in electrical engineering to drive innovation within the team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing electrical systems for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, and other electrical design software.
• Strong knowledge of the Egyptian Code, IEC standards, and NFPA regulations.
• Registration with the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
• Experience with green building standards such as LEED or Mostadam.
• Familiarity with BIM tools like Revit MEP.
• Prior experience working on mega-projects or government-led infrastructure initiatives.

Working Conditions

• This role is office-based in Cairo, with occasional site visits required.
• Standard working hours with flexibility for project demands.
• Site visits may involve exposure to construction environments, requiring the use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
• Minimal regional travel may be required for project coordination.
