Technical - BIM Wet Utilities Engineer

About the Role

BEC Arabia, a leader in construction, infrastructure, and engineering, is seeking an experienced BIM Wet Utilities Engineer to join our Technical Department in Cairo. This pivotal role involves the design, modeling, and coordination of wet utility systems, including water supply, drainage, and wastewater networks, for large-scale infrastructure and building projects. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver innovative, sustainable, and efficient solutions.

You will work on high-profile projects across the GCC region, contributing to BEC Arabia's commitment to excellence in engineering and construction. From day one, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of BIM models, adhering to international standards and project-specific requirements. Your contributions will directly support BEC Arabia's mission to deliver world-class infrastructure aligned with regional visions such as Egypt Vision 2030 and Saudi Vision 2030, focusing on urban development, sustainability, and smart city initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed BIM models for wet utility systems, including water supply, drainage, and wastewater networks, ensuring compliance with project specifications and international standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate wet utility designs with architectural, structural, and MEP models.
• Perform clash detection and resolution using advanced BIM tools to ensure seamless integration of utility systems.
• Prepare detailed shop drawings, schedules, and documentation for wet utility systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project timelines.
• Collaborate with project managers and site teams to address technical challenges and implement design modifications as needed.
• Ensure compliance with the Egyptian Code, ISO 9001, and other relevant standards for quality and safety.
• Conduct regular model reviews and quality checks to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability.
• Provide technical support and training to junior team members on BIM processes and tools.
• Stay updated on the latest BIM technologies and industry trends to enhance project delivery and efficiency.
• Support sustainability initiatives by integrating green building standards such as LEED and Estidama into utility designs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in BIM modeling for wet utility systems.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM tools.
• Strong knowledge of wet utility design standards, including water supply, drainage, and wastewater systems.
• Familiarity with Egyptian Code and ISO 9001 standards.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Registration with the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Certification in Autodesk Revit or other BIM software.
• Experience with sustainability-focused projects and green building standards such as LEED or Estidama.
• Knowledge of GIS software for utility mapping and analysis.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects in the GCC region.

Working Conditions

• Location: Office-based in Cairo, with occasional site visits as required.
