About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a Senior BIM Wet Utilities Engineer to join our dynamic Technical Department in Cairo. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for wet utilities systems across our high-profile infrastructure and construction projects. As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to design, coordinate, and optimize wet utility systems, including water supply, drainage, and wastewater networks.

In this position, you will play a critical role in advancing BEC Arabia's commitment to digital construction excellence and sustainability. You will work on projects that align with Egypt Vision 2030, contributing to the modernization of infrastructure and urban development initiatives such as the New Administrative Capital. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing BIM models, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and coordinating with design and construction teams to deliver efficient and sustainable utility solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed BIM models for wet utilities systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, civil engineers, and MEP specialists, to integrate wet utility designs seamlessly into overall project plans.
  • Ensure adherence to the Egyptian Code and international standards for wet utilities design and implementation.
  • Perform clash detection and resolution using advanced BIM tools such as Navisworks and Revit.
  • Prepare detailed design documentation, including layouts, schematics, and schedules, for water supply, drainage, and wastewater systems.
  • Monitor project progress and provide technical support to construction teams to address any issues related to wet utilities.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure BIM deliverables meet project specifications and client expectations.
  • Train and mentor junior BIM engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop timelines, budgets, and resource plans for BIM-related activities.
  • Stay updated on the latest BIM technologies and methodologies, recommending improvements to enhance project outcomes.
  • Support sustainability initiatives by integrating green building standards such as LEED and Estidama into wet utility designs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in BIM modeling and wet utilities engineering.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and Civil 3D.
  • Strong knowledge of wet utilities systems, including water supply, drainage, and wastewater networks.
  • Familiarity with the Egyptian Code for Design and Construction.
  • Experience in clash detection and resolution processes.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Registration with the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Certification in BIM Management or related disciplines.
  • Experience with sustainability-focused projects and green building standards such as LEED or Estidama.
  • Knowledge of advanced simulation tools for hydraulic modeling.
  • Previous experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects in Egypt or the GCC region.

Working Conditions

  • Office-based role located in Cairo, with occasional site visits as required.
