Technical - Senior BIM Dry Utilities Engineer

About the Role

BEC Arabia is looking for a Senior BIM Dry Utilities Engineer to join our Technical Department in Cairo. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodologies into the design and execution of dry utility systems, including electrical, telecommunications, and other essential infrastructure. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver high-quality, data-driven solutions for some of the most ambitious projects in the GCC region.

You will be responsible for creating, managing, and coordinating BIM models for dry utilities, ensuring compliance with international standards and project-specific requirements. Your day-to-day activities will include leading BIM coordination meetings, developing detailed models, and ensuring seamless integration with other disciplines. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed BIM models for dry utilities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications and international standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers, to ensure seamless integration of dry utility systems.
• Lead BIM coordination meetings to resolve design conflicts and ensure alignment across all project stakeholders.
• Implement and enforce BIM standards, workflows, and best practices within the project team.
• Review and validate BIM models submitted by subcontractors and consultants to ensure quality and compliance.
• Generate detailed shop drawings, clash detection reports, and quantity take-offs using BIM tools such as Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
• Provide technical support and training to junior engineers and BIM coordinators to enhance team capabilities.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and deliverables related to BIM activities.
• Collaborate with the IT and Digital Transformation teams to integrate BIM data into project management and facility management systems.
• Stay updated on the latest BIM technologies, tools, and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in BIM modeling and coordination, with a focus on dry utilities.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM tools.
• Strong knowledge of dry utility systems, including electrical and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Familiarity with international BIM standards such as ISO 19650.
• Experience in clash detection, shop drawing production, and quantity take-offs.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Registration with the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) or equivalent.
• Experience working on GCC mega-projects or similar large-scale infrastructure developments.
• Knowledge of green building standards such as LEED or Mostadam.
• Familiarity with 4D/5D BIM for construction scheduling and cost estimation.
